CAMAT artist, Susi London has taken her first steps into the capital’s contemporary art scene, showcasing her painting Autumn Years at London's prestigious Mall Galleries. The work was featured as part of ROAR – Rhapsody of August Riot, the highly selective fourth annual exhibition curated by Swanfall Art which ran from 24 to 29 August 2026. ROAR transformed the Mall Galleries into an unruly, joyful space celebrating pure creative freedom.
Susi London’s inclusion in the show marks a significant milestone for the Berkshire artist, placing her work alongside a global cohort of innovative, boundary-pushing contemporary artists.
Her featured painting, Autumn Years, fit seamlessly into their ethos. Known for her deeply expressive landscapes and an enduring fascination with the natural world, London often utilizes trees and landscape to explore thematic concepts of life, resilience, and transformation. Autumn Years captures this signature focus, trading rigid realism for an atmospheric, emotional response to the cycles of nature.
London's path to the Mall Galleries highlights a flourishing creative career rooted heavily in community arts. After studying 3D Design at Ravensbourne University and spending two decades in the capital, she has returned to her birth county of Berkshire to focus on painting.
As an active member of the Cookham and Maidenhead Arts Trail (CAMAT), London is a familiar face to art lovers across Bucks and Berks. Her selection for a highly competitive central London open call reinforces the strength of regional artistic networks like CAMAT, bridging the gap between local open studios and major London gallery spaces.
What's Next for Susi London?
For those who missed the Rhapsody of August Riot exhibition in London, there are plenty of upcoming opportunities to view her work closer to home. Susi London will continue to show her work regularly, and did so at this year's Cookham/Maidenhead Art Trail weekend over the 12–13 September 2026. She is also set to lead life drawing sessions later this autumn in collaboration with the Maidenhead Painting Club.
