Elaine McDermott is a contemporary jewellery artist, who produces colourful jewellery using silver, copper with glass enamelling. Her inspiration comes from ideas by clients for a specific piece or from the world around her. She uses traditional and modern techniques to gather patterns and textures to incorporate them into tactile pieces of jewellery. A lot of her pieces include landscapes, but she likes to be expressive in her work to explore new avenues and themes. She is currently taking her influences from Moorish Art, inspired by her many trips to the Andalucía region of Spain. Andalucía is rich in Moorish culture and architectural design which she adores and is incorporated with vivid Mediterranean colours to craft unique items of jewellery.
